A few days ago Bruno stopped me on the way to my house. He looked at me, blushed and started to stutter: "You know - when I first came here I had my doubts. On the streets I've done lots of bad things. However, here in the Nazareno village I ovserved myself and realized that I'm able to improve. I was pretty stunned and proud of myself. Nowadays I almost don't use cusswords anymore - which was completly different on the streets. And, you know, I want to thank you for that with all my heart."
The story of this boy's life begins with the words "I've never felt comfortable at home. I think that might be due to the absence of close relationships in my family. Everybody only cares about himself. When I was hungry I went to the streets, sleeping on the bare ground whenever I didn't find some cardboard. On the streets I didn't go hungry as much as at home. I didn't want to take any drugs - I only smoked cigarettes. My friends used to steal and tried to force me to do glue. But I didn't want to! Every once in a while I met my brother Roberson on the streets. He's already been living there for quite some time and is now 14 years old.
