Dear Nazareno Friends,

 

Last Wednesday a large crowd of children and youths marched simultaneously through busy downtown Recife and the touristy beach promenade carrying a heavy cross on their shoulders.

 

The 70 children and youths in Recife and almost 500 in Fortaleza, accompanied by hundreds of adults, were all taking part in a Demo in support of Little Nazareno.  And we were successful!  The following day pictures of the Crucifixion appeared on the front pages of the leading Fortaleza and Recife newspapers. The story was also carried by the Television stations.

 

Next Wednesday, a member of parliament is going to report on this campaign in the house of parliament of Fortaleza. With help of mass media a wide public became aware of the problematic situation of street children.

 

In Fortaleza each cross represented a young person living on the street.

It’s time that the public realizes the suffering of these young human beings. There are solutions – look at “Pequeno Nazareno”!
