Streetwork.

Together, there are nearly up to 1000 children living in the streets of Fortaleza and Recife, but only four streetworkers of the OPN. They are in the streets to take care of these children, to talk to them and to play with them. They are celebrating birthdays and do first-aid. By doing this, the streetchildren get a feeling of social acceptance the first time in their life. This will help to gain the childrens trust, they are getting prepared to leave the street. But before such a child can be taken into the Nazareno-village, we have to go to the administration for juvenile affairs and to complete the necessary papers in order to obtain the official right to care for a child.
